MALAPPURAM: The leadership of the Muslim League came forward for a ceasefire in the assessment that the Samasta-League war is shaking the foundation itself. Samasta has also given the green light to the league's moves. Public statements by the leaders were strictly prohibited by both organizations. The League leadership will hold talks with Samasta President Jifri Muthukkoya Thangal soon. The league leadership gave strict instructions to the state general secretary PMA Salam not to make controversial statements against Samasta. The league hopes to resolve Samasta's demand for action against Salam through discussion. Public action against Salam will send a message of surrender. Salam has clarified that what he said was the party's position. At the same time, if Samasta insists on correcting Salam's remark against Jifri Thangal, the league will agree to it.

Although PMA Salam's indirect remarks against Jifri Thangal on the Hijab controversy were controversial, the party stood by Salam. However, the league's assessment is that Salam's remarks against the state president of Samasta's student wing, SKSSF, Panakkad Hameed Ali Thangal, went too far. Salam's statement was that no one even knows who the state president of SKSSF is. The league fears that the public statement against the Panakkad family member may lead to misinterpretations. Later, PK Kunhalikutty, who remained silent on the Samasta-League war, came out with a strict stand that no further discussions and talks were needed on the controversial issues. Kunhalikutty said that the unity between the League and Samasta will continue.

The SKSSF state secretariat meeting said that Salam is trying to create disunity in the community and demanded that it should be controlled immediately. They warned that if anyone comes against Samasta and the leaders, no matter how big he is, he will have to pay a heavy price. Salam contacted Hameed Ali Thangal on the phone and explained that his words were misunderstood. SKSSF leaders also softened their tone later.
