Navratri celebrations have started in India. Navratri is celebrated from October 15 to 24. The 'Garba' dance also plays a major role in the nine-day celebrations. 'Garba' is the main dance form performed during Navratri celebrations in Gujarat. Now, Shashi Tharoor MP has shared a video comparing this dance form with a dance in Kerala.
Garba is a dance form in which men and women dance using Dandiyas (sticks) wearing traditional clothes of different colours. It is performed at night. The video shared by Shashi Tharoor MP shows young women from Kerala dancing using dandiyas. They are wearing Kerala sarees and red blouses.
'Attention Gujarati sisters! This Navaratri, check out dandiya Kerala style!' Shashi Tharoor wrote on X.
Following Tharoor's tweet, several people posted comments appreciating the dance. Some people pointed out that both dance forms are similar.
