THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rains are continuing in Kerala, especially in the capital city. The Central Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram in the next three hours. Meantime, no yellow alert has been issued in any districts today.

There were rains the whole night at several places in the city. There were heavy rains in the cities yesterday, while the waterlogging caused by the rains on Saturday and Sunday is slowly receding. Vamanapuram river in Vithura is overflowing. There was heavy rain in Agasthya Forest. Amboori and Vellarada areas received rain for several hours. In many places, there were damages including houses collapsing.


Meantime, fever is spreading in the hilly areas along with heavy rains. High fever, cold, cough, sneezing and headache are spreading. Meanwhile, conjunctivitis is also spreading. The number of infected people has increased in eight panchayats of Aruvikara constituency. The number of patients arriving at Vithura Government Taluk Hospital, Tholikode Family Health Center and Malayadi Family Health Center is increasing day by day.
