KOTTAYAM: A bus carrying devotees overturned at Erumeli Attivalavu at 6 am Wednesday morning. The vehicle carrying devotees from Kolar in Karnataka met with the accident. 17 people sustained injuries and the condition of none is serious.

There were 43 people in the bus. 15 of the injured has been admitted at Kanjirapally Taluk Hospital and two at Kottayam Medical College Hospital. Transportation was disrupted for one and a half hours following the accident.

The locals said the area where the bus overturned is a constant danger zone. It is reported that the vehicle overturned after applying brake suddenly. It is alleged that the absence of warning boards in the area is also cause of the accident.
