THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Meteorological Center has warned that rain with thunder and lightning is likely in the state for the next five days. Their warning said strong winds of 30 to 40 mph are possible along with isolated thundershowers.
The Central Meteorological Department informed that strong winds with a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour are likely to occur at isolated places in Kerala from October 18 to 20 and rain with thunder and lightning on October 21 and 22. Meantime, the Central Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in Kottayam in the next three hours.
Warning for fishermen
The central meteorological department has asked fishermen not to venture into the sea for fishing in the Kerala coast and Lakshadweep area and there is no restriction on fishing in the Karnataka coast.

19.10.2023: Gusty and bad winds with speed of 40 to 45 kmph and occasional up to 55 kmph over Tamil Nadu coast, Kanyakumari coast, Gulf of Mannar, Southwest Bay of Bengal, adjoining Sri Lankan coast, Maldives coast, Southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Southwest Arabian Sea.
20.10.2023: Chance of strong winds and bad weather over central parts of South Arabian Sea and adjoining Central Arabian Sea with speed of 45 to 55 kmph and occasional up to 65 kmph. Gusty winds with gustiness of 40 to 45 kmph at occasional gusts up to 55 kmph over central parts of South Bay of Bengal and adjoining central Bay of Bengal.
