THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rain with thunder and lightning is likely in the state for the next five days. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, strong winds with a speed of 30 to 40 kmph along with isolated thundershowers are likely till Saturday and thundershowers on October 22 and 23.
In the next three hours, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Idukki, Ernakulam, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts and gusty winds of up to 40 kmph.
IMD has issued a warning not to go fishing in Kerala-Karnataka coast and Lakshadweep area. At the same time, the authorities informed that south west monsoon has completely left the country today. Monsoon is likely to move over south India during next 72 hours but will have a weak start.
Low pressure is located over the South East Arabian Sea and South ,West Arabian Sea. The IMD said that during the next 24 hours, the Well Marked Low Pressure will move towards the west-northwest direction, and then strengthen again by October 21 to become an extreme low pressure over the Southwest Arabian Sea and Central West Arabian Sea.
