aravindakshan

KOCHI: The Enforcement Directorate on Thursday said that CPM leader and Vadakkanchery councillor PR Aravindakshan was directly involved in the Karuvannur bank fraud case. ED stated in the special court that it has an audio recording in this regard. ED informed this in court while opposing Arvindakshan's bail plea. The court will issue an order on the bail petition on October 25. The ED had told the court the other day that the investigation is at a critical stage and that Arvindakshan should not be granted bail.

Opposing the bail plea, ED contended that Aravindakshan and Jills were clearly involved in the case. ED also produced records of the phone conversation between Satish Kumar, the first accused in the case, and Aravindakshan in the court. Arvindakshan argued that this should not be allowed without following the procedures for hearing the audio recording in court. He also urged the court not to consider it without conducting a scientific examination to see if there was any kind of fraud in the audio recording.

Following this, the mobile voice recording was not played in the court. The investigation team presented the audio recording by opposing the argument that it did not have any evidence against Aravindakshan.
