PANUR: BJP workers have been acquitted in the case of killing of Chandran, a CPM worker.

The Thalassery 4th Additional District Sessions Court's verdict is in the absence of evidence. The acquitted are Odakath Santosh, Ajayan alias Kuttan of Mundol house, NP Sreejesh, VC Santhosh, KP Bijesh, KK Sajeevan, Mottammal M Shaji, Dileep Kumar and PP Manmadan.

Santhosh died during the trial. In 2009, a gang broke into the house and hacked Chandran. The violence took place after Santhosh's brother and BMS activist Vinayan was killed.
