KOLKATA: The Calcutta High Court has issued a set of guidelines for minor boys and girls asking them to control their sexual urges. The court issued the guidelines while hearing the petition filed by a teenager against his conviction in a POCSO case. Last year, the teenager was sentenced to 20 years in prison for having sex with his girlfriend, who was a minor.
The High Court bench comprising Justice Ranjan Das and Justice Parthasarathy said that teenage girls should control their sexual urges and teenage boys should respect girls.
"Instead of giving in to pleasure for two minutes, girls should control their sexual urges,' the bench said. The bench also pointed out that teenage boys should respect girls and women.
The court said that it is the duty of women to protect their physical integrity, dignity and self-respect and to control their sexual urges. Boys should respect the aforementioned duties of women. The bench added that boys should train their minds to respect the dignity, privacy and body of women.
