NEW DELHI: Congress is opposing the act of permitting the crew of the Chinese ship, which was the first to arrive at the international port of Vizhinjam, to debark at the berth. Congress national general secretary Jairam Ramesh alleged that Chinese nationals are usually not given permission to disembark at the port and the central action was proof of the nexus between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Adani.
The Centre has given permission to the Chinese nationals to land in Vizhinjam in violation of security norms. The Centre is giving illegal concessions to Adani. Centre is allowing Chinese nationals to work illegally for a company, Jairam Ramesh said. Crew members are allowed to disembark without a visa under certain circumstances. However, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs states that people from countries like Afghanistan, China, Ethiopia, Iraq, Pakistan, Somalia and Sri Lanka should not be allowed to come ashore. That is why it is illegal, he added.
The entire crew of the world's leading crane manufacturer, Shanghai P's ‘Shen Hua 15’ has been cleared to disembark at Vizhinjam International Port last day. Ports Minister Ahmed Devarkovil was the one who made this announcement. The ship received a warm welcome but there was concern as the Chinese crew members were not given permission to disembark even after four days. The Minister reported that permission was granted when concerns regarding the same existed. Initially, two people on the ship were granted FRRO permission. Later, authorities extended this permission to the entire crew. Minister Ahmed Devarkovil explained that this decision was due to technical reasons.
