NEW DELHI: A Delhi native was arrested in the brutal murder of a Swiss woman on Saturday. The dead body of the victim was found abandoned inside a car in West Delhi’s Tilak Nagar on Friday night. Switzerland citizen Lena Berger is the deceased.

Lena's body was found wrapped in a large plastic cover. Meanwhile, police arrested Gurpreet Singh from Delhi in relation to the crime. The accused and the Swiss native met for the first time in Switzerland and it didn't take that time for them to turn close. Gurpreet used to visit Switzerland often to meet Lena.

Their rosy relationship soon started hitting roadblocks as Gurpreet doubted Lena having multiple partners at the same time. This fury within him might have led to the brutal murder, doubts the police. The Swiss woman was coerced by Gurpreet to visit India and she landed at Delhi on October 11th.

The accused booked a room in a hotel and took Lena inside. He first tied her hands and legs with iron chains in the guise of performing a magic trick but brutally killed her later. The dead remains were kept inside a car that Gurpreet took for rent. The stench from the dead body brought nausea and it was then the accused planned to leave the dead body inside the car. Another car used by the accused has also been taken into custody by the police. Police recovered Rs 2.25 crore from his house.
