KANNURl: According to the investigation report, the driver was at fault in the incident where the out-of-control police jeep rammed into the petrol pump and hit the car which was filling fuel. The investigation report of the Department of Motor Vehicles also states that there were no mechanical faults with the Jeep.

According to MVI's report, the jeep's joint broke only after the accident. After two days of detailed inspection, it was found that there was no technical fault. City Police Commissioner R Ajith Kumar had ordered an inquiry into the accident and asked to submit a report.

The accident which could have ended in a huge disaster happened last Monday morning at 6.45 a.m. The accident happened to the jeep which was used to buy goods in the mess of Kannur AR camp. The fuel dispenser machine was also destroyed.

The absence of many vehicles at the pump at the time of the incident and a fire not breaking out at the impact of the jeep is what avoided a disaster. The vehicle was driven by ASI Santosh of Kannur AR camp.
