KANNUR: A person who tried to attack Kannur Mayor TO Mohanan and Corporation staff during Dussehra celebrations held at the Collectorate ground has been arrested. The arrested has been identified as Jabbar (45), a native of Alavil. The incident occurred during a concert led by Kannur Shareef held as part of Dussehra celebrations.

Corporation officials stopped Jabbar from dancing on the stage which sparked the issue. He pushed away TO Mohanan who tried to stop his aggression on the staff. Subsequently, police intervened and took him to the station. The police officials informed that Jabbar was drunk.

The mayor said that Jabbar got on the stage by shoving away security guards. He also criticized police decision to let him go after reaching the station and further added that there was lapse on police's part................................
