Israel, the United States, which supports them, and Iran, which supports Hamas, did not participate in the discussion, so there was no progress. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for a ceasefire as soon as possible and for humanitarian activities not to be hindered.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has remained steadfast in his stance that he will not accept refugees. Palestinian National Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said that they will not flee from their land and that the international community should support an independent Palestine. He accused Israel of violating human rights laws in Gaza. Jordan's King Abdullah called the continued bombing of Gaza "brutal" and "mass punishment of helpless people".
