DHARAMSALA: Pacer Mohammed Shami put in a great perfomance in his first match of the 2023 Men’s ODI World Cup as he picked 5-54 to bowl out New Zealand for 273 in 50 overs at the HPCA Stadium on Sunday.


Put in to bat first, New Zealand lost early wickets and we were at 19/2 before Daryl Mitchell slammed a fantastic century, 130 off 127 balls to bring New Zealand’s innings on track.

He stitched a crucial 159-run stand with Rachin Ravindra, who hit 75 off 87 balls,.

Later on they found it difficult to get a firm grip on the proceedings and lost their last six wickets in the final 10 overs.
