NEW DELHI: Protests at multiple places after the announcement of more candidates. There were outbreaks in the Madhya Pradesh BJP as candidates were announced for 92 more seats. Former Minister Sharad Jain's followers stopped Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav and staged a massive protest in Jabalpur. The local leaders also assaulted the security officer who was accompanying the minister.

A huge protest is going on in Rajasthan BJP over the candidate selection. Party members organized a symbolic funeral procession for state president CP Joshi. The footage of this is circulating on social media. This outburst in the BJP comes at a time when nearly half of the candidates are yet to be announced for the assembly elections. BJP workers themselves vandalized the office in Rajsamand. Widespread protests are taking place in various parts of Rajasthan like Udaipur, Alwar and Bundi.

In Madhya Pradesh, women protested for Congress leader Deepti Singh at the Congress headquarters. They were holding posters during the protest. A faction protested the denial of seats by burning the effigies of Congress leader Digvijay Singh and his son. A protest was held in front of BJP leader and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia's residence in Gwalior as well.
