DHARAMSHALA: Mohammad Shami with a rare record which no other Indian bowler has in the history of ODI World Cups. With his five-wicket haul in today's match against New Zealand, Shami became the first Indian bowler to take five-wicket haul twice in the World Cup. Kapil Dev, Venkatesh Prasad, Robin Singh, Ashish Nehra and Yuvraj Singh had taken five wickets each for India in World Cups.

Shami also became third behind Australia's Mitchell Starc in taking four or more wickets in World Cups. Starc took four or more wickets six times in 22 innings. Shami took four or more wickets five times in 12 innings. No other Indian bowler has taken four or more wickets more than twice. Only Starc, who has taken five wickets three times, is ahead of Shami in taking five wickets in World Cups.

Shami has taken 36 wickets, including two five-wicket hauls and one hat-trick, from 12 matches in World Cup, and is the third-highest wicket-taker among Indian bowlers in World Cups. Only Javagal Srinath and Zaheer Khan, who took 44 wickets each, are ahead of Shami.
