CHENNAI: Actress Gautami has decided to end her long tryst with political party BJP after she accused the party leaders of abetting a ‘fraudster’ who swindled her money.

According to Gautami's statement:

It was 20 years ago that C Alagappan befriended actress Gautami. The two immediately nurtured a rapport and Gautami entrusted Alagappan to look after all her property dealings. It was only recently did the actress found out about the fraud committed by Alagappan in the guise of friendship and she unleashed a battle against him on all turf. However, the BJP steadfastly supported Alagappan without even caring to hear her plea.

The actress joined BJP 25 years ago and has dedicated immensely to the party albeit facing serious health issues. "In the last assembly elections, the party had offered me a ticket from Rajapalayam constituency”, Gautami says.

“I proceeded with measures to strengthen the party at the grassroots level in Rajapalayam. But at the last minute, the party changed stance and took away the seat from me. But regardless of this, I continued to be loyal to the party. Yet the party helped Alagappan to circumvent the law. Even forty days after the FIR was registered, he was helped to abscond” - says Gautami.

Gautami filed a complaint with the Chennai Police Commissioner alleging that property worth 25 crores was stolen by using forged documents. The complaint was against Alagappan, a builder, and his wife. Alagappan and his wife offered to help sell Gautami’s 46 acres of land. Trusting them, the power of attorney was given. In the complaint, it was said that Alagappan and his family stole property worth 25 crore rupees by using his signature and forging documents. The complaint also alleged that Gautami and her daughter received death threats.

The actress has also asked Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin to initiate procedures to help her come out of this quagmire.
