THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mathew Kuzhalnadan MLA on Monday said that the finance department launched a 'capsule' (eyewash) in the graft controversy. "Since 2017, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter Veena Vijayan has been receiving money from the quarry company. GST registration was done in 2018. Then how did Veena pay the GST", Mathew said in a press conference.

He stated that the subject of the controversy is the money taken by Veena Vijayan from the black sand company for political gain and he has not yet received the letter from the Finance Department stating that the tax has been paid. "I received the letter through the media. It is not mentioned anywhere that Rs 1.72 crore of tax has been paid by Veena.", Mathew Kuzhalnadan added.

He also asked the finance minister to clarify whether Veena, like her father, would be able to pay GST before registering it, just like her father had the ability to show special action.
