KOCHI: Based on the CAG report that expired medicines were distributed in government hospitals, opposition leader VD Satheesan demanded an investigation against the chief minister and Health Minister. He also stated that the government paid only 10 percent of the contract amount and bought outdated medicines and the rest of the money was looted.

Out of 54,049 batches of medicines, only 8,700 batches were tested. 14 suppliers' drugs were not tested. There is also an allegation that during the Covid period, PPE kits were purchased by paying 300 per cent more than the market price. The fire in the warehouses of the Medical Services Corporation is also mysterious.

Even though the coffers are empty, 12 members of the Chief Minister's social media management team are being paid Rs 6,67,290 a month. Eight lakhs of rupees are wasted a year to vilify political opponents. Not only is Supplyco out of stock, but no company has participated in the e-tender for two months. The Chief Minister should clarify whether the Enforcement Directorate has investigated the monthly payment controversy. Satheesan also said that Mathew Kuzhalnadan raised corruption allegations in the Legislative Assembly as per UDF's decision.
