THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The met department has said that Kerala won't be affected by the cyclones formed in the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal. Cyclone Tej in the Arabian Sea moved west yesterday and made landfall in Yemen beyond Iran in the evening.

Cyclone Hamoon in Bay of Bengal is moving 200 km south-east of Paradip, Odisha and is centered over West Bay of Bengal. Due to this, there will be rain in Odisha, West Bengal, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Assam and Meghalaya states. Hamoon is the fourth cyclone of the year and the second in the Bay of Bengal. This name was suggested by Iran.

Meanwhile, with the arrival of southwest monsoon, there is a warning that rain will continue for five more days in the state. The Indian Meteorological Department has informed that there is a possibility of isolated heavy rains in various districts.

No yellow alert is sounded in any district for the coming days. Wind gusts of 30 - 40 kmph are also likely with isolated thundershowers. There is a chance of rain with thunder and lightning from October 25 to 28.
