THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president K Surendran on Tuesday said that Veena Vijayan paying tax on the monthly playment is only a 'capsule' of CPM. In his statement, he also asked why Veena paid GST on the deal with CMRL and Veena's company Exalogic.

"The CPM Secretariat said it was a legitimate transaction between the two companies. In that case the CPM should explain why the company is not paying tax. Nowhere in the record does it say that Veena paid the tax of 1.72 crores received as monthly payment. At least CPM members should understand that bribery cannot be taxed.", he said.

"Veena received the money from CMRL before their GST registration. I don't understand how she can pay GST on the money she got before that. The state finance department is aiding Pinarayi Vijayan's loot. The finance department, which imposes tax burden on the poor and squeezes them, is helping the corrupt."

"Trying to justify the Chief Minister, the government is going further and further into the trap. When the people struggling with waterlogging, the government is wasting crores of money. The government is not interested in paying salaries to the KSRTC employees but in holding an international tennis tournament in the name of the Chief Minister.", Surendran added.
