KASARGOD: The Kasargod District Sessions Court granted bail to all the accused including BJP state chief K Surendran in the Manjeswaram election bribery case. All the accused including Surendran had arrived in the court.
The prosecution did not oppose the bail plea of the accused. The case will be considered again on November 15. The case is that K Sundara, who was a BSP candidate in the Manjeswaram constituency in the 2021 assembly elections, was offered Rs two and a half lakh and a smart phone and threatened him to withdraw his candidature.
Apart from Surendran, Yuva Morcha state treasurer Sunil Nayak, former BJP district president K Balakrishna Shetty, BJP leaders K Suresh Nayak, Manikandarai and Lokesh Nonda are also accused in the case. The case initially investigated by the local police was later taken up by the crime branch, completed the investigation and submitted the charge sheet.
