KOCHI: Hill stations including Munnar and Wayanad are very popular among tourists coming to Kerala. Tourism sources said North Indian tourist arrivals since August have increased by 10-12 per cent compared to the previous year.

34 percent of the tourists who came to Kerala through online booking from September chose hill stations. 15 percent people showed interest to enjoy the beaches and 10 percent preferred lakeview. Six percent chose wildlife sanctuaries and forest areas.

North Indians love Kerala for its excellent weather from October to December. Hotels also said that they got better bookings during Navratri and Diwali holidays. Accommodations and homestays with five and four star status are in demand. Tourists say that Kerala's has excellent infrastructure including good roads, comfortable vehicles, airports and accommodation.
