KOLLAM: The excise arrested a person with four grams of MDMA in Karunagapally. Gokil Gopal of Ochira was arrested by a team led by excise circle inspector G Udaya Kumar in a raid conducted. A digital weighing balance used for weighing the stuff was also seized. Preventive officer Ebymon K V, civil excise officers R Akhil and S Anil Kumar also attended the raid.

The excise also caught a person who was selling illegal liquor from Puthenthope in Thiruvananthapuram. Ratheesh alias Stalin, a native of Kadinamkulam, was taken into custody with 40 liters of Indian-made foreign liquor kept for sale. The Activa scooter used by him for selling liquor was also taken into custody.

Civil Excise Officers Ajith, Altaf, Binu and excise driver Sherin participated under the leadership of preventive officer K Reji Kumar of Thiruvananthapuram Excise Circle Office.
