PATHANAMTHITTA: A man committed suicide after stabbing his wife to death. Venukuttan Nair of Kunnamthanam in Pathanamthitta stabbed his wife Sreeja to death. Sreeja was living in her own house for a few days. Nair came here and committed the heinous crime.

Meantime, a youth who killed his wife at Payyanur in Kannur the other day, surrendered at the police station. Shaji (40) killed his wife V K Prasanna (35) of Kangol Papparatta Bommaradi Colony.

The couple has been estranged for over two years. Shaji reached her house at around 2 pm yesterday. The locals said Shaji arrived after Prasanna called him. The reason to commit the crime is not known. As there was a wedding in the nearby house, all neighbors were there. He slit her neck with a knife. The couple has three children.
