THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning in the state, forecasting rain on Sunday and Monday. The region is currently affected by a cyclonic circulation in the southwest Bay of Bengal, with another cyclone forming in southern Tamil Nadu. 29-10-2023: A yellow alert has been issued for the Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Wayanad, and Kannur districts. The alert continues on the 30th for Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Wayanad districts. Rainfall between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm in 24 hours is considered heavy rainfall.
Additionally, the India Meteorological Department has advised that over the next three hours, there is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning in isolated areas of Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, and Ernakulam districts, along with strong winds reaching speeds of up to 40 km per hour.
