HYDERABAD: A MLA turned violent and grabbed a BJP leader by the throat during a live debate. Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) MLA K P Vivekananda from Kutbullapur in Telangana attacked BJP candidate Kuna Srisailam Goud. The MLA's attack was in front of a large crowd of supporters of both parties and the police. The video of it is going viral.

It is reported that the MLA became violent when he failed to answer the questions posed by Goud during the channel discussion. The MLA came forward and grabbed Kuna Sreeshailam by the throat while he was talking. It is also alleged that the MLA beat him. When it became clear that things had gotten out of hand, the police rushed to the venue and took both of them away. Meanwhile, some of their followers tried to jump onto the stage. They broke the barricade and threw chairs. Due to the timely intervention of the police, no further untoward incidents happened.

The BJP has come forward against the incident. State BJP President and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy responded that the incident is a warning that if BRS comes to power, the people will also be attacked in this way. He demanded that a case be filed against the MLA. He also warned that if a case is not filed, will face legally.

However, BRS spokesperson Shravan Dasoju said that BJP candidate made a remark against the MLA's father and this led to the conflict. He also asked the participants of the debate to be polite.
