KASARGOD: A train, which was supposed to reach the first platform, switched track at Kanhangad railway station. It was the16603 Maveli Express train travelling from Mangalore to Thiruvananthapuram that switched track. A major disaster was averted as there were no other trains on this track.

However, passengers struggled to board the train, which was halted in the middle of the first and second platforms. According to the officials, the train switched the track due to a technical fault. , The train finally left the station after being stopped for more than five minutes.

The incident happened at 6.45 pm on Thursday. Seeing the train coming through the middle, the passengers first thought it was another train. The passengers later realised about the incident after announcements were made continuously.
