KOZHIKODE: Shashi Tharoor's statement about Hamas terrorists attacking Israel has sparked controversy. The League organized a Palestinian solidarity rally in front of Samasta aiming to display their strength and show their support for Palestine.
Dr MK Munir made a correction right at the conference venue. He pointed out that historical figures like Bhagat Singh and Subhash Chandra Bose were considered terrorists by the British even though they fought for their country's freedom. In the same way, the struggle for freedom in Gaza is seen as an act of resistance against imperialist forces. Munir emphasized the importance of supporting Palestine's defence.
KT Jalil also entered the discussion questioning whether the conference in Kozhikode was in favour of Israel. In response, a video of Shashi Tharoor was shared on Facebook. Jalil asked why Tharoor didn't use the term "brutal terrorists" when describing Israel's actions in response to years of firing and shelling. He also stated that history would not forgive the League for hosting the Israel Solidarity Conference at the expense of the Palestinians.
