KOCHI: Eight people, including children, sought treatment at various locations for food poisoning while the inquiry into the death of Kottayam native Rahul D. Nair, who is suspected of having suffered from shawarma-related food poisoning, is ongoing. They sought treatment at Palarivattom Medical Centre, Thrikakkara Cooperative Hospital and Kolanchery Health Centre.

The details of two other patients who recently sought treatment for food poisoning were sent to the District Medical Officer by the Sunrise Hospital administration, where Rahul died.
