THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rain is likely at isolated places in the state today. Southern districts will receive more rainfall. There is no special warning in any district. The Meteorological Department informed that rain will intensify in the afternoon.

The Central Meteorological Department informed that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam during the next three hours and strong winds with a speed of up to 40 kmph.


The National Center for Oceanographic Studies (INCOIS) has informed that there is a possibility of high waves of 1.2 to 1.8 meters along the Kerala coast till 11.30 tonight. Fishermen and coastal residents should exercise caution.


The authorities have warned that heavy rain will continue in the state till Monday. There is a possibility of thunder and lightning along with rain and wind speed of 30-40 kmph. Yellow alert was announced in Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur on Sunday and Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad on Monday.
