INDORE: Many people must have seen the candidates going to submit their nomination papers with much fanfare. However, the pictures of a candidate who came riding a donkey to submit his nomination papers are now circulating on social media. Priyank Singh Thakur, an independent candidate from Burhanpur constituency in Madhya Pradesh, is the one who came riding a donkey and submitted his nomination papers. Thakur who reached the tehsildar office told the media that he did this to protest against politicians who were treating people as donkeys.

Priyank Singh Thakur alleged that matters are decided by two or three families in Burhanpur constituency and people are becoming fools when development takes place only in their house. He said that although he had earlier sought a BJP ticket to contest from Burhanpur, he submitted his nomination as an independent candidate after he was denied the ticket.

He stated that permission was sought from the Election Commission to contest under the symbol of a donkey, but it was not available. "It was a wrong decision for the BJP to deny me a ticket to contest. I will support BJP after winning the election. My campaign style will also be different', Priyank Singh Thakur said.
