KOCHI: JLN stadium in Kochi erupted as coach Ivan Vukomanović ran to the side-lines with fist pumps after Adrián Nicolás Luna scored the winner for Kerala Blasters in a super entertaining match against Odisha FC on Friday. After trailing in the first half, the Yellow Army fought back with two goals in the second half to capture the win. Forward Diamantakos (66th minute) and captain Adrian Luna (83rd minute) were on target for the Blasters.

Brazilian player Diego Maurio netted for Odisha (15th minute). With the win, Blasters are second in the table with ten points. Blasters' next match is against East Bengal on November 4. The Manjappadda fans organised a rousing welcome for coach Ivan Vukomanović who returned to the sidelines after serving a long ban.

Blasters dominated the game from the very start but failed to convert this to a goal. A chance to take the lead in the 10th minute was squandered. Returning to the game, Odisha fired the first shot in the 15th minute. Ahmed Jahu, who advanced past the sluggish Blasters midfield, lifted the ball and Odisha's Brazilian player Diego Maurio easily evaded Hormipam Ruivah and Pritam Kotal to net in the first goal of the match.

Blasters were saved by Goalkeeper Sachin Suresh’s brilliant reflex in the 20th-minute penalty. A foul on Odisha’s Isaac Ralta led to the penalty. Ahmed Jahu's shot from 25 yards deflected off Sachin's hand and onto the crossbar but later greased past Naocha Singh Huidrom's hands which was spotted by the referee. However, Sachin turned saviour again with an easy block.

The stadium later erupted in joy after Adrian Luna ensured a much-needed victory with an 83rd-minute goal, thus completing the comeback.
