ADOOR: Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai said that Kerala Kaumudi is the guardian of public values. He was inaugurating the golden jubilee celebrations of editor K Sukumaran being honoured with Padma Bhushan by the country.
K Sukumaran was a newspaper editor who emphasized the sense of justice. He was imbued with the ability to take the helm of social renaissance. The editor was a different person who even took criticism. He was careful not to turn journalism into a sales commodity even when he presented the matter in a sharp manner. Kerala Kaumudi played a decisive role in purifying the political sphere of Kerala. The Padma Bhushan award went to editor K Sukumar. Sreedharan Pillai also said that such honours, which used to go to the hands of the rich, have started reaching real hands in the last few years.
Deputy Speaker Chittayam Gopakumar presided over the function held under the auspices of Kerala Kaumudi Pathanamthitta Unit. Former minister Pandalam Sudhakaran delivered the keynote address. Dhanalakshmi Bank Chairman Kalanjoor Madhu and SNDP Yogam Adoor Union Chairman Adv M Manoj Kumar spoke at the function. The special edition of Aaranmulesham published by Kerala Kaumudi Pathanamthitta unit was released by PS Sreedharan Pillai by giving it to Palliyoda Seva Sangam President KS Rajan Moolaveetil. Kerala Kaumudi Pathanamthitta Unit Chief BL Abhilash gave the welcome speech and Bureau Chief M Bijumohan gave the vote of thanks.
