JAIPUR: With the upcoming assembly elections in mind, the Congress is making substantial pledges to the people as they aim to secure continued rule in Rajasthan. In a press conference held at the Congress Election War Room, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot announced five significant assurances for the people in the context of the assembly elections. The primary objective of the Congress is to challenge the BJP and regain power in the upcoming elections.
Among the promises, Ashok Gehlot declared that free laptops will be distributed to first-year undergraduate students attending government colleges. Furthermore, the Congress manifesto outlines that all students will have the opportunity to receive education in the English medium.
The Congress is also set to establish a legal framework to strengthen the old pension scheme and ensure a rate of Rs 2 per kg for cow dung storage. Among the election pledges, the Chiranjeevi Health Insurance Scheme is notable, offering health coverage of up to Rs 15 lakhs in case of an emergency.
During the press conference, Ashok Gehlot emphasized the accomplishments of the previous Congress administration. He also highlighted that Rahul Gandhi's commitment to waiving farmers' debts has been promptly fulfilled, with the promise of clearing farmers' debts within seven days, which Gehlot stated was executed accordingly.
