study-easy

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The blind and hearing impaired can study with normal students, forgetting the sadness of isolation. The students of Ernakulam Model Engineering College are paving the way for this achievement through artificial intelligence. An application called Study Easy developed by them is going to be helpful for this.

When the teacher teaches, the hearing impaired can read it as text on the mobile phone. The visually impaired can listen to the summary of the class in audio form. If you type the doubts from the taught sections, the chatbot will answer them instantly. The app also provides a summary of the parts taught within an hour of the class. It can be kept for any length of time. Students can read the short notes in the app the day before the exam.

The app was developed by Gautam C Arun (Computer Science) from Thrissur, Alfred Jimmy (Electronics and Communications) from Ernakulam and Athul Babu (Electronics and Communications) from Thrissur. All three are third-year students. Study Easy was selected as the best learning app at the International Artificial Intelligence Conclave organized by IHRD in Thiruvananthapuram this month. It was used on an experimental basis in college. They are working on expanding the app's features to be used in schools and colleges.

Class at fingertips even though it's far away

Currently, there are different apps to record classes and get summaries. Many of these have to be paid. Study Easy offers these services under one roof for free. - Gautam C. Arun
