KOCHI: Gold prices rose by Rs 480 per sovereign to reach a record high of Rs 45,920 in Kerala as the yellow metal gained popularity as a safe investment after the political tension escalated in West Asia. The price of gold rose in India as the price rose to 2006 dollars per ounce in the international market. Gold price rose by Rs 60 to Rs 5740 per gram yesterday. The previous record price was Rs 45,760 recorded on May 5. Despite the strengthening of the US dollar, investors are buying gold in large quantities, fearing that the war between Hamas and Israel could spread to more regions.
