KOCHI: The police suspect that the blasts that occurred during the convention of Jehovah's Witnesses in Kalamassery were test doses. The initial conclusion of the police is that it was a light tiffin box bomb. Police have confirmed that an IED ( Improvised Explosive Device ) was used for the blast. It is suspected that the attack was planned. The police have collected all the information as part of the investigation. The police have also appointed a special police team to monitor social media in the assessment that there is a special purpose in choosing the Yaoha witness conference venue for the blast.

Witnesses present at the Jehovah's Witnesses convention centre informed the police that they observed a blue car leaving the premises just moments before the explosion occurred. This blue car is now the subject of intense investigation as authorities try to piece together the events leading up to the blast.

The police have initiated an investigation into the possibility of a terrorist attack. State anti-terrorism forces are on-site, with the Director-General of Police (DGP) en route to the location. Additionally, the central government has requested information on the incident and urged the submission of a preliminary report at the earliest. There are instructions to explore the likelihood of a terrorist attack in the incident. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has engaged in discussions with the Chief Minister regarding the situation. It is reported that the Center has directed the NSG team to visit the spot and investigate. The NIA will also investigate the incident. The chief minister informed that the incident is seen seriously. CPM state secretary M V Govindan has also demanded that the police should seriously investigate the explosion.

A woman was killed and more than 25 people were injured in the blast that happened Sunday morning. It is reported that the condition of some of them is serious. The explosion took place at the Samra International Convention Center near the Medical College in Kalamassery. Today was the last day of the conference which has been going on since October 27. It is reported that more than 2,000 people participated in the conference. The injured were shifted to Kalamassery Medical College.
