NEW DELHI: The center said NSG and NIA will reach Kerala to conduct a detailed investigation into the blast that occurred during the Jehovah's Witnesses convention in Kalamassery. Union Home Minister Amit Shah asked Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for information regarding the incident. The information is that a five-member team is coming to Kalamassery for the investigation.


The reports that came in said there was the presence of low impact explosives at the incident site. NIA officials of the state reached the spot and conducted an investigation. The Center's directive is to check the possibility of terrorist attack. The Center was monitoring the reactions from Kerala regarding the Israel-Hamas war. Union Home Ministry has directed to look into all possibilities.

The police have collected all information as part of the investigation. The police are assessing that there is a special purpose in choosing the conference venue of Jehovah's Witnesses for the explosion, and a special police team has also been assigned to monitor social media. People informed the police that a blue car left the convention center at high speed just before the explosion. The visuals of the car had surfaced.

The chief minister said the incident will be seen seriously. CPM state secretary M V Govindan has also demanded that the police should seriously investigate the blast. A woman was killed and more than 35 people were injured in the blast that happened this morning. It is reported that the condition of seven people is critical. It is also reported that the child with 80 percent burns is on ventilator.


The explosion took place at the Samra International Convention Center near the Medical College in Kalamassery. Today was the last day of the conference which has been going on since October 27. It is reported that more than 2000 people participated in the conference. The injured have been shifted to Kalamassery Medical College and Rajagiri Hospital.
