KANNUR: A person has been taken into custody by the police in Kannur during a state-wide investigation in connection with the Kalamassery blast. The individual was taken into custody during a bag check, and reports suggest that he is a native of Gujarat. Meanwhile, the woman who tragically lost her life in the Kalamassery blast has been identified as Libina. Further information about her is not yet available.

One person has surrendered in connection with the series of blasts that occurred during the Jehovah's Witnesses convention in Kalamassery. The native of Kochi surrendered at the Kodakara Police Station in Thrissur. He told police that he planted the bomb. The police are interrogating him in detail. No further information has been divulged.

Meanwhile, the police are also investigating the car that left the convention centre just before the series of blasts. CCTV footage has been obtained but the car has not been found. An Air Force helicopter is monitoring the area. Vehicle inspection has been tightened in the entire state including Kochi. The district police chiefs have been instructed to conduct a state-wide inspection. Patrolling will also be strengthened. A high alert has been issued in the state.

In the wake of the blast, the Chief Minister has called an all-party meeting. The meeting will be held tomorrow morning at ten o'clock in the secretariat. All parties are invited to the meeting.

Inspections will be conducted in crowded places and places of prayer. Other states are also on alert. A strict alert has been issued in UP, Delhi and Maharashtra.

The incident occurred this morning at around 9:30 AM at the Samra International Convention Center, which was hosting a regional conference for Jehovah's Witnesses. The conference, which began on the 27th of the month, had over 2,000 attendees. Tragically, a woman lost her life in the blast, and 36 individuals sustained injuries, with seven of them currently in critical condition.
