JEDDAH: The authorities closed several roads in Jeddah following heavy rains in Saudi Arabia. The tunnels on the roads were full with water during the rain. Jeddah's Hira Street Tunnel, Prince Majeed Tunnel, Prince Saud Al-Faisal Street and Palestine Street were closed. Vehicles are being diverted to Al Haramain Road.

The Jeddah Municipality is trying to drain the water in the tunnels and canals and dispose of the garbage. Some roads in the city have already been opened. Those traveling through this route should strictly follow the instructions of the authorities.


The Jeddah Education Department had earlier announced that schools in Jeddah, Rabigh and Khulais will be closed today due to the possibility of heavy rain. The Jeddah Education Department also said that classes will be held through the Madrasati platform instead. The Indian school in Jeddah is also closed. Jeddah University and Jeddah King Abdulaziz University declared holiday today.
