NEW DELHI: Declaring solidarity with the Palestinian people and demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the CPM led a dharna in front of the party's Delhi headquarters, AKG Bhawan. Central Committee members including Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan participated in the dharna which was inaugurated by CPM General Secretary Sitaram Yechury. The leaders condemned India's abstention from voting in the UN General Assembly.

Yechury said Israel's war is not against Hamas, but against the people of Palestine. CPM's position is to end the atrocities committed by Israel. More than 8,000 people have been killed so far.
