MEERUT: A woman and her two daughters were killed after hit by Vande Bharat Express while trying to cross the track. The incident happened last evening at Kasampur in Uttar Pradesh. Mona (40), wife of Naresh of Kankarkhera and daughters Manisha (14) and Charu (7) are the three killed.
Naresh is a rickshaw puller. Police superintendent Piyush Kumar Singh informed that the accident happened while they were trying to cross the railway track in Kasampur which was closed. Police found that Naresh was drunk at the time of the incident. He escaped with minor injuries. Police said the bodies have been shifted to the nearby government hospital and will hand it over to the relatives after the post mortem. The train was proceeding to Dehradun from New Delhi.
A man urinating on the railway tracks in Alwar of Rajasthan was killed after a cow, hit by a speeding Vande Bharat train on the Mumbai-Gujarat stretch, fell on him, in last April. The dead was Shivdayal Sharma, a retired electrician in the Indian Railways.
