PATHANAMTHITTA: Film and television actor Dr Rajath Kumar was bitten by a stray dog. The incident happened when he came for the shooting of his new film. The dog bit him when he was going to the temple near the theatre.

Those bitten were admitted to the hospital. They sustained injuries on their hands and feet. The condition of none is stated to be serious.
Stray dogs are roaming on the roads day and night. In addition to being unable to walk on the roadside, waiting centers are also taken over by stray dogs. St Peter's Junction, Private and KSRTC Bus Stands, Stadium Junction, Aban Junction, Ring Road and every place in Pathanamthitta city is in the grip of stray dogs. The dogs are also seen in Kozhancherry stand and the adjacent building. Adoor, Pandalam, Konni and other areas are in the same situation. There are more stray dogs at bus stands than people waiting to board the bus.
Although land acquisition has been done to set up the animal birth control (ABC) center, the project is at a standstill. A decision was taken to establish one center in each panchayat but it was not implemented. Although it was suggested that two and three panchayats should establish one ABC center, not a single center has been started yet.
