KOCHI: After the all-party meeting, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reached Kalamassery to see those injured in the bomb blast. After visiting the convention center where the blast took place, the chief minister met the people undergoing treatment at the Kalamassery Medical College. Four are being treated in the ICU here.
The chief minister will also visit those undergoing treatment at Aster Medicity and Sunrise Hospital. CPM state secretary M V Govindan and Ministers K Rajan and Roshi Augustine are accompanying the chief minister. The team reached Kalamassery by helicopter. Health Minister Veena George had confirmed that the condition of four people injured in the blast was critical. Mother of Libina, who died, suffered 50 percent burns and her brother 60 percent. The minister had explained that both of them are on ventilators.
Two women and a child were killed in the Kalamassery blast. Kumari Pushpan (53) of Thodupuzha Kaliyarkulam, Liona Paulose (55) of Kuruppampadi, and Libina (12), daughter of Pradeep of Kaladi Malayattoor, died in the blast yesterday morning at 9.40 am. Libina, who sustained 90% burns and was undergoing treatment at Ernakulam Medical College died Monday morning at 1 am.
