THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that Keraleeyam 2023, the festival of Malayalees, is an opportunity to confidently present the uniqueness of Kerala to the world. It needs to be underlined that communalism has no place in this state. Kerala's culture of brotherhood and love needs to be celebrated and Keralaeeyam is providing an opportunity for that to every Malayali, Chief Minister said in the press conference.

The inauguration of Keraleeyam 2023 will be held on November 1 at 10 am at the Thiruvananthapuram Central Stadium. The Chief Minister also informed that the inauguration ceremony will be attended by a large number of people, including diplomatic representatives of countries like UAE, South Korea, Norway, and Cuba, film stars Kamal Haasan, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Shobhana, Manju Warrier, industrialists MA Yusuff Ali, Ravi Pillai and eminent personality in the health sector, Dr MV Pillai.

Keraleeyam will be staged in 42 venues from Kowdiar to East Fort. The seminars will be held from November 2nd to 6th from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm. Performances will be staged every evening from 6 pm onwards. All other events like exhibitions, trade fairs, and food fairs will be held from 10 am to 10 pm. 25 seminars are being held in 5 venues with the aim of preparing the future outline of New Kerala. More than 200 national and international speakers will participate in 25 seminars which will be conducted in combination of online and offline methods.

Seminars will be conducted following green protocol along with making the venues disabled friendly. All seminars will be live-streamed along with sign language interpretation. From Kowdiar to East Fort, 25 exhibitions have been planned to visualize different areas of Kerala. These exhibitions will be held at Kanakakkunnu, Tagore Theatre, University College, Ayyankali Hall, Central Stadium and Putharikandam.

About 25 installations prepared by renowned sculptors of Kerala will go up in different parts of the capital city and at four airports in the state. Art documentation prepared by Riyas Komu to coordinate the branding design of Kerala and bring public monuments and exhibition techniques of Kerala to the international mainstream is also a part of the exhibition.

More than 300 art programs will be staged in 30 venues. Around 4100 artists will participate.

Trade fairs are organized in 8 venues with 425 entrepreneurs participating. Business-to-business meetings are organized for enterprises in the industrial sector and in the tourism, hospitality and healthcare sectors. More than 200 buyers will participate. From Manaveeyam Veedhi to East Fort, eleven venues will host a diverse food festival featuring the unique flavours of Kerala. More than 150 stalls are set up that range from street food to five-star cuisine. Besides, there will be food show, food branding and display and sale of traditional food products.
A Street Food Festival from University College to Vanross Junction will also be a part of the nightlife for these seven days. The brand ambassadors of the food festival are nationally and internationally renowned food vloggers.

Electric lighting has been arranged from Kowdiar to East Fort. The main venues will be decorated with electric lights based on different concepts. There are also various selfie points at Kanakakunnu with light decorations based on specific concepts. Moonlights will pave the way for night walks at Tagore Theatre. The museum will have light decorations in the form of animals and figurines to attract children.

100 films will be screened at the film festival organized by the film academy in collaboration with KSFDC. The show will be held at Kairali, Shree, Nila and Kalabhavan theatres. 87 feature films and 13 documentaries produced by the Department of Public Relations and Film Academy are included in the festival. The main attraction of the fair will be the exhibition of five classic films that have been remastered with the help of digital technology to enhance the quality of visuals and sounds.

The flower festival will be organized in six venues. Pushpolsavam will be held at Putharikandam, Central Stadium, Kanakakunn, Ayyangali Hall, LMS Compound and Jawahar Balabhavan.
There will be six floral installations at the main centres of the city's five venues that evoke the uniqueness and culture of Kerala.

Thiruvananthapuram City Police has made strong security arrangements. Areas comprising 40 venues have been divided into 4 zones and more than a thousand police officers, 250 women police officers and 400 special police officers have been deputed for duty.
The services of the Health Department and the Fire Force have been made available at the main venues. The services of Fire Force Unit and Ambulance have been ensured in various parts.

2 special police control rooms have been set up at Kanakakkunnu and Putharikandam. 10 Aid Post/Sub Control Room has been prepared centred on the Keralaeeyam venue.
