KOCHI: Thammanam native Dominic Martin took all responsibility in the Kalamassery bomb blast case, and he even surrendered before the Kodakara police station with a sheaf of evidence to make the case easier for investigating officials. However, the central agencies and police officials are still nosing around to unearth more details about Dominic and haven't dropped the assumption about the possible help the accused might have received to conduct the crime.
Police are now corroborating the evidence given by the accused and are in search of supporting evidence. The cyber team that checked Dominic's social media had cancelled his Facebook account. A detailed examination of his previous Facebook posts is in progress. An inquiry is still going on to check whether the accused had any ulterior motive for the crime or not.
At the same time, the police and central agencies are corroborating the evidence given by Dominic and collecting additional evidence. After committing the crime, Dominic travelled 45 km on his scooter and took a lodge in Koratty. Inside the room, Dominic appeared on a Facebook Live and revealed everything related to the crime.
Dominic held a stoic pose while top officials drilled him with questions in Kalamassery. There was no compunction visible on his face. The accused also filmed the tragedy on his mobile phone and handed over the same to police officials which was to become prime evidence in the case.
The information about the remote used to detonate the bomb was handed over. He also had bills for the purchase of materials for making bombs. After receiving all these, it was more or less confirmed that the accused was indeed Dominic.
The CCTV visuals from Zamra convention hall also rightfully pointed to Dominic’s presence. Police thoroughly examined the home of the accused to find remnants of bomb-making from the past two days.
