TEL AVIV: Israeli army tanks have entered Gaza City outskirts, after launching the second phase of offensive against Hamas. With this, the Salah al-Din Road connecting northern Gaza and southern Gaza was closed.

Salah al-Din Road is the only existing highway for thousands of people in the northern region to escape. Israel opened fire on vehicles trying to cross the road. However, Hamas claimed to have cleared the road by driving out the tanks.

Israel's attack on northern Gaza has intensified. Dozens of Hamas operatives were killed in the attack, which began Sunday night. More than 600 Hamas centres were also destroyed. The death toll in Gaza has reached 8,500.

Meanwhile, there was a missile attack on Israel from Syria yesterday. The military bases in Syria were destroyed by Israeli warplanes in response to this.

Mass death if the hospital collapses

Al-Quds Hospital in central Gaza is on the edge of fear as the Israeli army and airstrikes have intensified. The Palestinian Red Crescent says the bombing took place right in front of the hospital. Along with hundreds of patients, more than 100,000 people have sought shelter in the hospital and nearby buildings. The World Health Organization has warned that a mass death could happen at any moment.
