THENHIPALAM: Police have arrested an employee of the Calicut University for sexually assaulting a woman inside a KSRTC bus. The arrested person has been identified as Angamaly Vengoor native Reji (51), a section officer of Calicut University Engineering College. The incident took place on a KSRTC bus plying on the Thrissur-Kozhikode route.

The 28-year-old woman boarded the bus from Perumpilavu at 10 in the morning. The woman complained to the bus employees that the accused who was sitting on a seat sexually assaulted her. Following this, the bus employees contacted the police. Police arrested the accused when the bus reached Kuttippuram. Reji has been on unpaid leave for a long time.
